Photo Walk 2014 Fort. Pierce, Florida (the Jetty)

So a lot of people want to know if I'm on vacation when I go back to the states the answer is almost always no. I don't have a lot of time for fun because I'm working as much as I can.

This year however, I did get to have a little bit of fun. A very good friend of mine recommended the Photo Walk to me this year and I was intrigued.

 Q. What is a Photo Walk?

A. It’s a social photography event where photographers get together (usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town) to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers.

"On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the whole world will be walking again during Scott Kelby’s 7th Annual Worldwide Photowalk™. Taking place in cities around the world, photographers of all walks of life and skill levels gather together to socialize, share and inspire during this one-day, worldwide event.
It’s completely free to participate in the walk, but this year we’re “Walking with a Purpose” by encouraging all participants to donate as little as $1 to the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. You can make that $1 back and then some by entering your favorite shot from your walk into our contest, with a chance to win amazing prizes from our sponsors." - Photo Walk Official Website

Q. How many cities participated last year, and how many photographers did the Photo Walk that day?

A. We had over 900 Photo Walks and over 32,000 people who participated around the world last year! That’s a HUGE leap from the 236 locations and 8,324 people from the first year.

When she said we had to get up and leave at the crack of dawn (6:00 am) to get to our location by 7:00 am to get those pre-dawn and sunrise photos, I questioned her sanity and then my own. Would it even be worth it?  I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

  1. Awww, girl, I had a ton of fun! I always get to try new things when you are in town. Thanks for hangin' tough with me at 6am! And yes, the pics prove that it was worth it, in my opinion! And, we weren't even late for meeting! That's getting our priorities straight! Miss ya!

    1. The pictures prove it was well worth it! Next time we stop and get coffee ;-P

  2. I think the cloud one is my favorite

    1. I had a hard time picking. That one seemed like something we'd see on one of the publications.
