*A Call for Help-Update*

A big hug and thanks goes out to all of you who donated a used or new DVD player to those in need here in Nicaragua.

Here is a sample of a deaf friend of mine who was helped by someone's generous donation and is using her gift to share vital information with other deaf in her community.

If you would like the opportunity to help out please contact me and we will discuss how to get your donation into the hands of those who need it most here.  See original post here.

Shelina and The Chocolate Festival

The happiest place on earth is where ever you can find the most chocolate. This year's chocolate festival in Davie was just that kind of place.

Best thing about the chocolate festival... is being in a room with a bunch of chocolate.

Worst thing about the chocolate festival...all the chocolate isn't free.

However, the group that I went with found two things to be true:

Free chocolate must be earned :) (The best ways to get free chocolate is to ask and schmooze).

The fun is where you make it. We made the most of the festival by doing all the silly things that they offer: eating contests, scavenger hunts, trivia games etc. By the way, at the end there's always free prizes i.e. chocolate.

Can't wait for next year :D

My New Mug

Preglazed Mug

I like to think of myself as an amateur painter and sketcher. This trip back to Florida one of my dearest friends invited me to a 'paint-your-plate' kind of shop where you can put your painting talents on a ceramic item.

Each item is priced and the paint and glaze is included.

This particular shop is owned by a local deaf woman and entrepreneur. She is a very helpful and talented artist in her own right. I thank her for helping me to make my mug look its best.
