I am in the hottest place around. That´s right folks...Granada. Its busy, its full, its touristy and theres plenty of territory and we´ll be taking it on foot.

But so far I have met some of the nicest people. The sister I´m staying with has three children. Two are out of the house and one is soon to be married and the youngest isn´t yet 14. They speak only spanish and believe it or not we are saying most of what we need to say. Just not feeling very confident about it.

There have been more than a few misunderstandings but no hurt feelings. The food is good though limited because of my restricted diet and I drool over the things that I can´t eat.

I had my first coffee today and it was excellent. Nicaragua does have great coffee. Still need to make it starbucks like and add the sugar and milk but it tastes fantastic.

From here I´ll be attending my second meeting in Nica sign and fifth meeting of the week. Yeah, everyone wants you to visit their meeting down here so it is what it is. That´s all for now and since internet is a priviledge and not a right. I´m signing off. Yeah no pix yet but I´ll keep trying.

Hello from Nicaragua!

Hello everyone,

Well, here's the recap if you haven't heard... I'm here and loving it! My flight out of Miami was uneventful. Which is always a good thing. The flight was direct from Miami to Managua, Nicaragua. Two short hours later and I'm arrived. The time difference is one hour behind central and two behind eastern. Email and internet is a luxury (like AC) that I may only get here at Bethel so I'm taking advantage of the time to keep in touch. Sorry the option of downloading my pictures here is a no go but I'll keep trying.

Bethel escorted me from the airport to the Branch and it was a bumpy (cobblestone road) ride with a lot of harrassing and aggressive drivers. Don't think I'll be doing a lot of driving here but it was an interesting experience.

The weather this time of year is temperate and similar to Florida. The area that I'm heading to this afternoon is Granada. It is the tourist spot with all the things that American's seem to like. That means it all costs more too. But we'll see. The Granada Sign Language group needs help and that's where I will potentially be serving. There is a need for people who know sign to teach the deaf the bible and that's what I do :)

I will try to keep future posts short but wanted everyone to know that its hard not having my all in one G1 at my hip. Going through a bit of withdrawl but I'll make it :)

Ciao friends,

Welcome, to My Journey.

Just a little something about what's going on with me. I wanted to keep people "posted" as to what I was up to these days and this seemed like an easy way to say all I want to say and get pictures to everyone without sending out so many individual emails saying the same ol' thing.

I invite all my guests to comment on what they see here and let me know if there's something they'd like to see.

Ciao for now,
